My Target Trip August 2011

My Target trip and back in the game of couponing.

Total cost of all the items posted above with out coupons $71.22.

Total cost with coupons was $20.40

A total savings of $50.82!!  (really sense baby has been born the best I was doing was saving $10 on each shopping trip)  So I am thrilled with this out come.   Who can beat 12 packs of Diet Pepsi for $1.25 each!  Or free hair color and shampoo and more…

Note:  I got a catalina coupon that I am so excited to use!  A free 8 by 8 Shutterfly photo book up to $29.99 in value.  Just noting never throw away those useless coupons they give you at check out.  You might just have a treasure on your hand.  I can’t wait to put an album of my kids together.  I usually give these as gifts but I am keeping this as a family photo album!

Back in the coupon game after my baby sons birth.

So I dedcided to finally get my coupons organized and go shopping.  I haven’t used a lot of coupons in awhile.  My birth of my son 6 weeks ago and Miss 3 have come first in my life and that is why I have neglected my blog.  We must though start coupons again to save my family money.  A family of four is now more expensive than ever.  We are couponing to go to Jamaica so that our kids can see their grandma.  Our goal is now to save three thousand dollars before Christmas Break to go and to pay off our medical debt that we have left from the birth of our son.

What I did is finally get organized after months of no organization.  Above is my organization!  It is hard with 2 kids to get organized and ready to shop.  I am not sure how I am going to handle this when I go back to work in 6 weeks time.  But time will tell.

Planting Season has started out in the country.

It is offical the family has started the planting season.  The picture is my brothers ride for planting season.  Wishing for the best growing season this year on the farm.  Don’t forget to slow down for the farmers on country roads.

I heard a free offer the other day on the Trading Post free manure so if you know a local farmer and need some for your garden just ask.  Only in the country do you get this!
Gardens are a great way to save money on fresh produce and can it for the winter.

GIVING is the best part of couponing!

Many people have asked do I donate items from my stockpile and the answer is yes!  GIVING is the best part of couponing is being able to donate!  Here are cans of food I donated to one of the schools I teach at for their food drive this week! I have so much soup and chili that I had plenty to donate and still have some left in my stockpilies.  I love Jewel Con Agra deals it helps me donate to people who really need it.  I can save money and help others which is the icing on the cake!!    (Jewel has been slow on Con Agra deals late so hopefully they will have one soon!)

Stockpilies in my house. A little bit about stockpiling with coupons!

Stockpiling is important and key to extreme couponing.   Get a product when it is on sale for the a real good price and stock up on it!  I stock up on items if they are free with coupons all the time.  If it is a good coupon I buy it at Ebay or a coupon clipper.  You can find them by clicking at the top of my page at “are you new here couponing basics!”  Build your stockpile on free items it will take time and the best place to get a stockpile going is to play the drug store game with their coupons!

Here are just a couple pictures of my stockpiles.  You may think I have huge stockpiles but I don’t really compared to other extreme couponers.  One question I get is how do you store your stockpiles.  I just store enough under my sinks, beds, and in the cupboards.  I don’t have a garage full of items.

67 Boxes of Gain Dryer sheets.  I gave a couple boxes to family members!   There are 5 piles but 3 touch the ceiling above my dryer.

The gain was free.  I paid $30 for the coupons on Ebay.  7 I got from newspapers which I paid $.75 for all 7!!    With the gain deal I got the Xtra laundry detergent for free too.  You could get overage at Dollar General for each box which I put into other products to build stockpiles like hand soaps, Kleenex, lotion, and so on.    This pile is $170.25 in savings.  I think I won’t need fabric sheets for awhile.

This is under one of my four sinks with cabinets in my house .  I am only showing one sink.  This is one of my bathroom sinks.  Most of these items were free.  Unlike the above photo I didn’t buy these coupons on ebay.  Just used my usual 4 papers and internet coupons.  Root Awaking was my most expensive product for $.49 a bottle.  Air fresheners Free.  All the other Shampoos free.  Bars of soaps and Body wash free.  My  hubbies 40 body washes all free!  (watch for these during fathers day to be free and never buy body wash ever again :) )  My hubbies 15 deodorants all free!  Tons of razors, toothbrushes, floss, 3 tubes of toothpaste,  shaving gel, womanly products which I hid behind the ear swabs, hairspray, Clearasil and Neutragena products (yep free those went fast I love that product) and travel size products all free.  You should never have to pay for any bathroom products ever.

I am getting tired so off to bed.   Yesterday I didn’t posted was way to tired.  Maybe it is being 6 1/2 months pregnant.   Can’t wait to get normal sleep again maybe in the next year after the baby… ahhh

A little Clearance Shopping for my children.

So we are having a boy but my brother has 2 girls and I have Miss 2.  So this time I can’t swap clothes with my brother what to do.  So I am clearance shopping! Went to Kohls and Old Navy tonight.   The key for me is to stock up clothes off season when they go on clearance for the next season guessing can be tricky but it usually works out.  This is why I am done with Miss 2 and DH at the end of July.  Because their BDays are in March and April.  Plus the toys clearance out at the end of July better than any Christmas Deal the day after Thanksgiving and I am not fighting in line or waking up early!!  I laughed at DH tonight at Target and said wow look what I paid for your shoes!!  He didn’t buy it he was ya right I know you.  They were back this year same shoes at full price now that I bought at 75 percent off last year.

3 of the onesies were 99 cents each originally $4.17 each

1 of the onesies was $1.47 originally $7.50

1 long sleeve shirt $1.27 originally $8.50

1 Christmas out fit $5.60 originally$28.00 – grandparents will love this we will take a pic of miss 2 and the baby in Christmas clothes :) !

1 Winter Hat for Miss 2 $.97 originally $9.99

I paid $12.28 without tax and saved from original prices $66.50

A little Walgreens shopping trip run tonight!  With that great extra 15 percent discount today I had to go!!!  Plus we only have one toothpaste left in our stockpile.  Now were up to 3 :) !

I bought 18 snicker Eggs on sale this week for $.29cents  I used three 3 $1/1 coupons and 1 $2/1 coupon for the April All You Magazine.

I bought 2 Colgate Total toothpaste and used 2 coupons for $1.50 of 1 product.  I got back a $4 RR reward coupon for my next Wags shopping trip.

I bought 2 Skintimate Shaving Creams with a free bonus razor on both.  Used 2 coupons for $.55 of 1 product.  I got back a $2 RR coupon for my next Wags shopping trip.

I bought 2 Excedrin extra strength tablets and used 2 free coupons that I needed to use today because they expired.  I got them from an online promotion earlier that I posted about.

Then I showed the cashier my phone and I got an extra 15 percent off of everything.

My total in cash without tax was $3.84 then add the $6 in RR I received.  I am up  $2.16 from this Wags trip!  Woot!!! Total Savings of $34.90!!

By the way the chocolate snicker eggs were yummy go get some if you have the coupons!!!  My dh and I ate a few and the rest we will save for Miss soon to be 3 on EASTER DAY (yep Easter Day is her Birthday this year).

Note:  You will find the snicker eggs next to the cashier registers at checkout.  I went to DeKalb and they were out of everything.  So I went to Sycamore scored there last 2 toothpaste tonight sorry.  They had 4 Skintimate shaving gels left.  In Rochelle a reader told me they still have toothpaste if you live out there.  Hurry before they are all gone.  I was surprised to even get my 2 toothpaste tonight :) !!

One of my last Gain Trips at Dollar General. I paid $25 cents for this shopping trip.

15 Gain Dryer sheets at 40 count

1 Gain Dryer Sheets at 120 count

4 dollar general hand soaps

10 boxes of Kleenex

I paid $.25 for all this not including tax. Total savings $48 dollars!

I have 2 more Gain Coupons to use that expire on 3/31!  It has been a great coupon.  I have a wonderful stockpile.  I bought most of my coupons on ebay except for the 7 coupons I got out of my newspapers.

Note:  the key to couponing is building a stockpile one product at a time.  I do this usual with things I can get free with coupons.  Sometimes I will buy items for $.25.

My Shopping Trip that cost me just $.75!

I used Five $3/1 Gain coupons.  I purchased 5 $2 boxes (40 count) at Dollar General.  (this gave me $5 in overage to spend on other products like the Zest and Dollar General Hand Soap).

I used $1/1 Zest coupon from my PG coupon booklet I got off face book.  The Zest soap was $2.75 So the soap coast me $.75

I bought 2 gain dish liquid soaps!  They were a $1 and I used 2 $1/1 coupons from the P&G coupon booklet I recieved from their facebook page.

I bought 4 dollar general hand soaps which cost me $0! (because of the overage from the gain coupon).

So I only paid $.75 forever thing (tax is not include because tax varies depending on where you live).

If you have been noticing I am stockpiling the Gain Fabric Softner!  It is a great coupon which I can buy from ebay online or Coupons N Things and get it free at Dollar General or Walmart!  If I bought 20 Coupons for lets say $11.  $20 times $3 = $60 – 11 I still have $49 to use in free products!  I want to make sure my stockpiles are a good size before the baby boy is here because I believe I will be to tried to coupon all the time with a new born.  Why stockpile?  Good question I will have to write about that soon.
